This was a very special day for our Directors Charlene Ash and Stephen Ash, we were feeling the love ❤️ We had been on a surrogacy journey with our great friend over the previous few months hoping for a brother or sister for our little boy. Our surrogate had offered to help us in September 2023 and we then signed up with Create Fertility, Cardiff as we had embryos in the freezer. We had a special fertility nurse who had been with us since 2017.

Months followed of surrogacy planning, scans, blood tests, paperwork, counselling, legal advice, consent forms. The wait is so hard when you're just anxious to proceed but it's so important for all the papers to be in place before embryo transfer. It was lovely to meet our surrogates family and partner and they will always be our special friends and hold a very precious place in our hearts.
We had embryo transfer on 6 June and that two week wait after is so hard. We were advised by the clinic not to do a pregnancy test until Monday 17 June. Oh so many thoughts running through our head? Will the embryo transfer work? Is our embryo good enough quality? Are we too old? Bless our surrogate who had been taking hormones to promote the embryo transfer. We didn't have any down regulation meds as we wanted the process to be as natural as possible with minimal side effects for our surrogate.
Our surrogate knocked on our door at 8.30am that Sunday morning, which was Father's Day and the plan was to do three pregnancy tests, one for each of us...........the nerves were eating us up. Had it worked? We cried as we waited for the results...........WE WERE PREGNANT ❤️🥳🎊❤️

Our surrogate had been quiet that week but had been having pregnancy symptoms. Yay, we were all over the moon. We hasn't expected our first embryo transfer to work and this was the start of a beautiful surrogacy journey. Happy Fathers Day Steve, what a great day to have this awesome news. 😁
